Synopsis
The film boasts performances by two of the most talented actors working today. The brilliant Laura Linney plays Wendy Savage, an aspiring playwright languishing in temp jobs in New York City and courting perpetual dissatisfaction through an affair with a married neighbour. Academy Award®-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman plays Wendy’s brother, Jon, a theatre-arts professor living in Buffalo and slogging through an overdue book on Brecht. Neither sibling is fulfilled by their pursuits, and things quickly take a turn for the worse when they are called upon to arrange care for their ailing father, Lenny.. Lenny’s ability to manage for himself has run out, and he must leave his Arizona retirement community. Wendy and Jon have to get over long-standing tensions – with each other, with Lenny and with the world at large – to find their dad a suitable place to live out his days.

Reviews
There are no easy answers in dealing with aging and dying parents, and Jenkins doesn't try to give us one; she simply takes us into the story of her fascinating characters, and the integrity with which she handles it makes it ring true throughout / Kim Voynar, cinematical.com
