The Trap', first Serbian urban psychological thriller and a second feature film by acclaimed young director Srđan Golubović ('Absolute Hundred', 2001.) will be showcased on this year's ZFF. After it premiered in a non-competition programme of the Berlin International Film Festival, the movie was listed as one of ten most important movies from Berlin '07 by Hollywood Reporter magazine. After that, it won the Grand Prix at Sofia International Film Festival, and has been screened at several acclaimed festivals, amongst others, Toronto International Film Festival.

The script, based on a book by Nenad Teofilović, written by Srđan Koljević and Melina Pota Koljević is centered around young middle class Belgrade couple and their son. Mladen (Nebojša Glogovac) leads a happy existence with his loving wife, Marija (Nataša Ninković), and a beautiful young son, Nemanja (Marko Durović). He is an average man making as good a living as can be expected in post-Milošević Belgrade. Then, completely out of the blue, Nemanja is struck down by a severe seizure and must have an operation as soon as possible. However, the surgery costs twenty-six thousand Euros and is only available in Germany. The couple has no property to sell, and a politely cruel banker denies Mladen a loan. Desperate, Marija puts an ad in the newspaper pleading for financial assistance for Nemanja. Soon, mysterios stranger replies and offers to pay the whole amount. But there is one thing Mladen must do for him: Kill someone.

Accolades from the press came not only for brilliant direction, script and photography, but also for magnificent acts made by Nebojša Glogovac, Nataša Ninković, Marko Durović, Anica Dobra, Predrag Miki Manojlović, Bogdan Diklić and others.
