'Blind Mountain', a film by Li Yang, screened before ZFF audience yesterday, picked one of the awards at the fifth edition of Asian Film Festival (7-14 October) in Rome. Yang shared the Best Directing award with Japanese director Naomi Kawase (The Mourning Forest). The jury, composed by Frederick Chiacchiari, Manuela Isopi and Valerio Sammarco awarded Blind Mountain because of Yang's ability to tell a story about the miserable status of women in rural China without resorting to stereotypes.

Best Film award went to 'Spider Lilies' by Zero Chow,  Tony Leung Ka Fai won the Best Actor award for ‘Lost in Beijing' Li Yu, and Vietnamese Nguyen Quoc Khanh won the prize for Best Actress for interpretation in the film 'The White Silk Dress'.
